Hathor was made for the first JamNations gamejam, for which the theme, Aïda, was supplied by the Opéra de Montréal. The sponsors (Quartier des Spectacles, Moment Factory and Cossette) added an additional constraint: to think the game as one that could be deployed in a public space. The result is a game in which 4 participants try to catch pieces of a pyramid in order to complete it. The players control one snake each and have to catch projectiles of their own colour while avoiding those that aren't.

Pressure plates surrounding the installation let the crowd control where the next projectile will be coming from. However, in the spirit of fairness, only one can be in play at the same time. The projectiles will only shake in place as long as the pressure is held and will only start moving once someone removes their feet. As such, eight participants can each hold down a pressure plate and keep the snake-controlling players on their heels, wondering which player will be the one to let go. The game then becomes one of emergence and bluff in which the crowd has fun playing with the expectations of others.
